Baby Lock Capella has an Automatic Needle Threader
Start your sewing projects faster with Capella’s easy-to-use automatic needle threader. It threads the needle for you, saving time and reducing frustration. Just press a button, and you’re ready to sew. For very fine needles, like size 65/9 or smaller, be sure to thread manually to avoid damaging the threader hook.
Convenient Bobbin System
Changing bobbins is quick and easy with Capella’s front-loading system. The vertical hook design lets you swap bobbins without removing your hoop. Just make sure the thread unwinds clockwise for smooth, accurate embroidery results.
Built-In Bobbin Winder
Winding bobbins is quick and easy with Capella’s built-in quick-set bobbin winder. Powered by its own motor, the winder runs independently and stops automatically when the bobbin is full. For the best results, use cotton or spun polyester bobbin thread sized between #90–120.
Automatic Basting
Use the Capella’s basting stitch feature to secure fabric and stabilizer before embroidering. This is especially helpful when you can’t use adhesive or iron-on stabilizer. The basting stitches go around the design to keep everything in place and reduce shifting or shrinkage. For best results, finish all design edits before selecting the basting option—editing afterward could cause misalignment and make the basting hard to remove.
Baby Lock Capella Cuts Jump Stitches
With the BabyLock Capella, trimming jump stitches is easier than ever. When enabled, the machine will automatically cut threads during a single color segment, keeping your embroidery neat without extra cleanup. You can also choose to trim jump stitches in imported designs, helping prevent unwanted threads from running across your hoop or design. For patterns with lots of trims, setting a higher jump stitch trim length can reduce extra thread tails on the back of your fabric.
Design Trace
Design Trace is a must-have feature on the Capella! It moves the hoop to outline your design’s position before stitching begins. You can watch the path to make sure your embroidery is perfectly placed and that the hoop won’t hit the presser foot. This helpful tool gives you confidence that your design will stitch exactly where you want it every time.
Crosshair Positioning Laser
The Capella’s crosshair positioning laser makes precise embroidery placement simple. You can preview and adjust the position and angle of your design, ensuring perfect alignment—especially helpful for placing text or matching up patterns.
Baby Lock Capella has On-Screen Editing
With the Baby Lock Capella, you can edit your embroidery designs right on the built-in screen. Watch your changes update live as you resize, rotate, mirror, or move your design into place. Combine designs, rotate in 1°, 10°, or 90° increments, and adjust sizing from 10% smaller to 20% larger. You can even select new colors to match your vision—all without needing extra software.
