Piping Foot #38, also known as the “uneven foot,” features two halves of differing thicknesses, making it perfect for creating narrow-to-medium piping and handling unevenly thick fabric layers. The design of this foot allows the higher right side to glide smoothly over fabric as you sew. Besides piping, it is also suitable for attaching thick tape, ribbon, cords, or hook-and-loop tape. For best results when sewing on tape, position the tape under the right side of the foot so it aligns flush with the edge of the thicker left side, allowing the needle to easily catch the edge of the tape.
